Kizhi. Icons of Pokrovskaya Church.

The basis of the collection of old Russian painting are icons from the churches of the Kizhi Pogost and churches and chapels of the area. Most of the icons were painted in the 16th-18th centuries by Northern icon-painters. They represent a specific branch of the Russian icon-painting - the Northern icons.
